ik it’s overwhelming rn, there’s no other disease like it! t1d is largely trial & error at 1st— ull have plenty of ‘scares’ even some close calls, as long as yall are acting on the highs & lows, she will be ok & ull get the hang of it very quickly. my mom was a ball of nerves for the 1st few months (& i was 30 y/o when i (finally) got properly diagnosed😆, im 31 now) & now we kno there’s only immediate danger when it’s already low & going straight down lol bc we’ve learned it happens very quickly but thankfully it doesn’t happen often (anymore) lol

Hang in there. I think the first three months were the worst months of my life and slowly but surely it’s feel less terrifying and normal. It is a lot. And it sucks a big one.

my 10 year old was diagnosed last year and my 5 year old was diagnosed this year. its hard but you got this! reach out if you need to vent or just talk to someone who understands :)
