breakfast is served, kain tayo TOCINO (TOSILOG MUSUBI) Revisiting our Tocino Spam Musubi from our previous season but now we’re doing the full on tosilog! This one was highly requested by you guys as well so I just had to push it earlier. It’s a Filipino sweet and savory pork dish with a notably red char finish. Let’s not forget the garlic rice too. If you’re not a fan of food coloring you may also use annato powder as well! Enjoy! Tocino (Tosilog) Musubi Recipe: Tocino: 1-2lbs of pork belly/pork shoulder/pork butt 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup pineapple juice 1 cup brown sugar 4 cloves minced garlic 1 tsp black pepper 10 drops of red food coloring OR 1/4 tsp annato powder Garlic Rice: 10 garlic cloves minced 2 cups cooked rice pinch of salt musubi mold eggs 1. wash & cook rice 2. mince all 14 garlic cloves, set aside for marinade and garlic rice (separate the ratios!) 3. cut choice of pork part into half inch thin slices. in a bowl mix all tocino ingredients together and marinate pork for 2 hrs or overnight with a plastic wrap covering your bowl (you may also marinate it all in a ziplock bag) 4. once marinated, cook pork in a pan on medium heat til both sides begin to char. set aside 5. in a pan cook your minced garlic in neutral oil til it becomes a deep brown while stirring them around the pan. Toss in your cooked rice, mix with the garlic, and lightly season with salt. take off heat. set aside 6. cook eggs to your liking (if sunny side up, cook on low heat with light oil til all whites are done cooking). set aside 7. using a musubi mold, fill with garlic rice, then press down using the mold press to make a musubi shape. top with tocino then carefully top with cooked your egg. wrap with nori sheet 8. enjoy! #katsu #Recipe #foodreels#EasyRecipes #cooking #musubi #tocino #tosilog #filipino
