@imtaramichelle: Sizes are just sizes, bodies are just bodies. There’s no right or wrong size, or body and I just wanted to talk about this…

Some people need to realize that THEIR triggers are THEIR problem. You need to be aware of your triggers and have practices in place to overcome them.

As someone who is very plus sized, please do not apologize for sharing your size. You are who you are and I am who I am, your existence doesn’t invalidate mine. Sending love and peace.

Being short has nothing to do with wearing xxs. You can be 200lbs and 5’1”.

I don’t think people understand that body shaming goes both ways. I am a petite person myself and I feel I am unable to not feel “skinny” without getting sarcastic comments in response.

It’s the “swimming” part that could have been left out. Nothing wrong with sharing your size. Your height also has nothing to do with your clothing size

*constructive criticism* because the social norm is to be petitie sometimes it can come off like a “flex” verses being your size. It’s like someone posting a luxury bag haul. Nothings wrong with posting it, but you can expect it to pull some strings for people struggling with the subject

Size 16/18 here. I’ve followed you since around 2019 or so, and believe me, I have a very good nose for when people are doing what this person is saying you’re doing. That’s not you. I don’t follow anyone who gives those vibes. I think you’re striking a mindful balance, and articulating your intentions very well 💜

As a plus size girlie with my own triggers, you handled that perfectly. 🫶

No - I don’t think it’s rude at all! However I think choice words are important! “Swimming in” or “extremely baggy fit” about commenting on other sizes I think can be triggering… again that’s just my opinion!

Ok but what if we realized this is on the inconsistency within the fashion industry and not the consumer themselves?! The only reason we have to talk about how something fits is because one brand/item is labeled an XXS but fits like a “typical” medium… like this isn’t on the consumer it’s on the fashion industry as a whole

If you don’t say the size then people would ask?

Maybe labeling try ons to help petite girlies would be helpful. As someone that struggles with body dysmormphia I wasn’t personally triggered by the “swimming in xxs comment”. But I could see how that could be triggering to someone in a bad place.

i don’t think you did anything wrong…it’d be the same thing if someone ordered a 2XL. there’s nothing wrong with the size you order. i think people get too triggered 😓

As someone who is 5’2” but plus size(in progress of losing weight) you mentioning your size, in my opinion, is not an issue. I think some people just get triggered too easily and need to reevaluate what’s going on within.

I am also 5’1 3/4! I feel your struggle sometimes being short means we got to go for a smaller size in oversized things I am around 170lbs and I even have to order or get a small with certain items because I’m so short and it literally looks like you’re swimming in it, it’s not even a weight thing it’s can just be a height thing!

But also as someone who consistently wears a large, there are some clothing that I wear a small in. Clothing size cannot always be compared to body size!!! You did nothing wrong!!!

there is a difference between petite and small. you are small but you are not all bone if that makes sense. i think the person took it to personally and you didn’t do anything wrong. maybe they thought you weren’t petite and had to go along with what they were saying because they already started it.. but they were actually wrong. i am saying this as someone who is average height but also skinny.
