@tilscience: Scientists created early stage human embryos from human SKIN 🤯🤯🤯 This is so wild and could be huge for several reasons: if viable this technique could theoretically overcome infertility by using almost any cell in the body as a starting point for life. It could even allow same sex couples to have a genetically related child #pregnant #biology #infertility #ivf #medicine
this is so scary though because we shed skin so easily so anyone could theoretically get your DNA and create embryos with your skin cells without you knowing

Then people that want to be parents can have children. And the tears of women that have fallen in silence stop. There is hope. ❤

The need for a donor egg is still an interesting thing to look into, I think, since it's a pretty taxing procedure for someone to go through just to extract the eggs

The donor egg still has it's mitochondrial DNA meaning technically the embryos was made from 3 people except if they also removed the donor egg mitochondrial DNA and introduced that of the skin cell.

This is so exciting as a young woman with no ovarian reserve. While I know this will not benefit me, I hope it will help someone in my shoes one day.
