So happy you share this. This has always underpinned my management style. Sometimes I give a stretch project that’s a little too stretch but apart from that this has been very effective. Evidenced by the relationships I hold today with all my former direct reports. Unfortunately only a good HR leader saw what I was doing, I rarely had leaders above me who cared about this approach.
