I am beyond grateful for the stories that helped kids like myself feel a little less alone in the world <3 DISCLAIMER/ IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Robert Munsch was diagnosed with dementia and parkinson’s. In order to be approved for MAID you must still have “decision-making capacity” under Canadian law. His daughter released a statement clarifying he is doing well, and will not be dying anytime soon. Due to how quickly the diseases can progress, he decided to apply and was approved shortly after. I wanted to make this video to commemorate Robert as he is a core memory of my childhood. I know many Canadians like myself grew up with the stories and influence of this amazing author, and I’m sure i’m not the only one who was raised reading his books. Robert had a way through the art of storytelling that made him feel like a part of all of our families. My own grandfather recieved a MAID earlier this year, and when I heard the news I was brought back to the same feelings I had when I heard that my grandpa made the same decision. So, thank you to Robert for the stories that will forever be a part of me.
