From a practical sense, hell no. On order to win a title, you have to be good for a longer period of time and that involves many factors that are outside of your control.

Depends on what role you had for your team and the teams you faced in the playoffs. For example I rather be 06 wade winning the championship averaging 34 points in the finals.

I agree. And voters fatigue completely ruins it. Biased Nuggets fan so I’m also just salty about Embid

I’d say winning a 2nd to 3rd MVP is more impressive due to their being such a voter fatigue after winning 1

They both hard but I think winning a mvp is harder because it’s in individual award

You still need luck to win mvp cause you gotta be great and hope the narrative is on your side

A) The game is played to win championships. That’s the ultimate objective measure of success.
B) MVPs, by contrast, are subjective. The criteria shift year to year, and the award doesn’t always go to the best player — it goes to the player enough voters agree on. Take Russ’s MVP: I would argue Harden was more deserving that season. Championships cut through that subjectivity. We know who won. We know who had the ability to lead a team to the top.

Keep in mind, Nikola Tokić won a championship without playing a second, also, only 35 recorded players have won a regular season MVP

Not all MVPs and championships are equal, 2011 Mavs and unanimous MVP Steph

Winning multiple mvps without a chip is the hardest thing to do in sports. They gonna pull every trick in the book 2 not give you the award

Depends on how impactful you were to your championship. But MVPs should be the better option

Winning an mvp is heavily influenced by media narratives. People can talk about “mvp” worthy seasons like what Chris Paul and 2011 bron. They were second place but will get not even 5% the credit if a real mvp even though they were at least 90% close to winning

i_cri_errytime :
MVPs have narratives factor into how/why voters for the winner. So the best player doesn’t ALWAYS win mvp, and sometimes they win mvps they don’t deserve as an apology. The best player on a Championship team is much more obvious, so winning a chip as the best player is more impressive
