Just watch out having the wood directly on the counter like that in the splash zone. I had a raised wood soap holder for a while in my kitchen and had to get rid of it and upgrade to a silicone one because of water damage :/

I had the same hamd soap dispenser, just watch out for mold. I changed/cleaned mine once a week and it kept getting mold in the hole.
