Context is important. Please remember this was NYC in the early 80s. Crime and corruption was at an all time high. A lot of missing cases fell between the cracks, due to the war on drugs.

This is why it is critical that if someone is missing for their family’s DNA to be collected. This also should be protocol when children are also adopted so they can find their families.

This was Long Island, Nassau County, there was a crack epidemic on the island too but not as bad as NYC. what played a huge part in this was racism. the police did not care about a little black girl. I lived in Freeport in 1982. I never heard a word about it. I know my mother made sure we didn't go out alone.

Yup but they also just found with in weeks another body of a missing man that was missing for years. He was also found in queens and from queens. A lot weird stuff is happening .
