I was surprised that a lot of the anime I watched in Mexico such as Saint Seiya, Speed Racer, Captain Tsubasa wasn’t as popular or was never brought over to the USA.

In Brazil things were a little different, we imported a lot of Tokusatus like Kamen Rider and Japsion and then came Saint Seiya, DBZ, Sailor Moon and etc in free television

>LatAm TV channels didn't have money for American cartoons so they got cheap anime instead I've seen this argument trying to explain why anime was too popular in LatAm in a couple of videos and it's inaccurate, we got all kind of U.S cartoons and shows dubbed on top of anime, in fact that is one of the main reasons anime got so popular in LatAm: it was wildly different than the already popular cartoons or U.S. made tv shows. Something like Saint Seiya or Sailor Moon was way more edgy and deep in story for children than your average Hannah-Barbera or WB cartoon that were commonly broadcasted before that's why anime got so big among kids here
