What I find interesting, violence aside, they cry about age play but I've seen multiple then say pet play is okay. They are essentially the same thing different font. But somehow only one leads to problematic illegal behavior 🤨

i think the issue is people don't know how to cope with something being weird and uncomfortable to them. i find plenty of things (kinks, ships, tropes, etc) in fandom and in media weird. i just don't interact with stuff i find weird, because weird inherently isn't a moral failure or a threat. people are allowed to be weird and they're allowed to have a safe space for being weird.

YEAH 100% i think their hate for certain kinks is literally just blind panic, they hear about a certain concept and without thinking abt any nuance or what it actually is, theyre triggered by one word. like okay youre mad at a noncon fic but heres a reminder: a fic is FANTASY. which means that in relation to real life, it is cnc just like bondage, which also involves a FANTASY of noncon. but they dont have any issue with that stuff! they only hate noncon because the word just triggered them like a sleeper agent! and they love to say that pet/age is also problematic because the people are pretending to be animals or children and theyre getting off on that act but really? lets apply that logic elsewhere so we know its actually sound logic! by this lone of reasoning, slasher movies are immoral and unethical and people who enjoy them must evil bc they like to see others suffer... yeah, that doesnt make any sense at all. because in both cases, everyone is fully informed and consenting to the act. and everyone is totally aware that it is fake.

I think the issue is that the forget that this is all ROLEPLAY. this entire list can be done safe/sane and key word CONSENTUALLY. the only thing im iffy on is the noncon because that by definition isn't consensual. CNC and Dubcon is already on there so why add noncon?

“shout out to my degree” IKTR!! like sorry but i’m not above telling someone straight up it’s a FACT that i know more about something than they do. i studied this shit from multiple angles and perspectives for YEARS incorporating nuances and intersections, that’s not for nothing but in today’s society literally nothing means anything anymore, including a degree, including extensive education and research. i mean shit, look at the way the majority of the world talks about climate change as if it’s a conspiracy and not literal actual proven data. most of the time they haven’t done a 1/16th of the analyzing and pondering have on the topic and you’re gonna sit there and tell ME i don’t know what i’m talking about. i definitely don’t think a college degree is mandatory for engaging in these conversations but DO NOT try and discredit the years worth of thoughtful work i’ve done on this topic if you’re only retort is gonna be incorrectly regurgitating and weaponizing a concept you learned last month on tiktok that ive actually written multiple source-cited papers on thank ya
