Plus we no longer have trashbags for our bathroom trash cans! I have to buy them, this causing more bags to be produced. instead of getting multiple uses out of the grocery bags.

I just love how bags used to be free and now they’re not, but prices don’t reflect that :) I bring my own bags and bag my own groceries and it’s all still expensive :)

Plastic engineer here. You’d have to use a canvas bag 20,000 times over a plastic bag for it to be more environmentally friendly. Also, plastic bags are easily recyclable.

It’s all about the $$$ they are getting for the per bag fee that is charged as a purchase so they can tax it. This shows the environment is not the real priority

A Scandinavian country did a massive study on this year's ago trying to account for all environmental impact, and the thin plastic bags were found to be overwhelmingly the best option, assuming you reuse the bags for disposing of waste/trash.

I order my groceries online and i go pick it up when ready. There is zero chance for reuse. I get the thick bags and I toss em. At least have the thin bags for online orders...

Plastic bag ban? That can't be right; every store here in Seattle has plastic bags available. In fact, that's all the Udub Safeway has. And you get charged $0.10/bag.
