Heartbroken and angry by Megamind’s cheating and trickery of making him into a hero for his own selfish desires, Tighten went to a fellow ‘hero’ named Syndrome to feel like he belonged again. Tighten helped Syndrome defeat superpowered people like Mr. Incredible, thinking they were evil like Syndrome said. He thought that they were going to pursue a relationship until he realized once again that someone that he trusted was using him for his own personal gain. He caught him cheating with Megamind again. And Syndrome wanted to trick the world into thinking he was a hero, but Tighten wanted to be a real hero. Letting his built up anger and sense of betrayal take the better of him, Tighten decided that the hero business was for phonies and turned into the one thing he hate- a villain.
