Its definitely a thing. Chinese medicine! The whole body is connected. The neck and shoulder pain can be tied all the way down to your feet but your sacral area is a huge nerve center thats commonly neglected. Idk about the whispers for 5more min! 🤣

I've been a Massage Therapist for 15 years. Blowing on any part of the body is not normal. I hear weird stories like this all the time though, it's a little disturbing.

My roomie once got me a gift card for one in S.M. and I'm not really into massages but it was about to expire so I felt like I should use it. I hadn't been feeling good for like a month (like a cough that wouldn't go away) -- I wasn't contagious and it was pre-covid — anyway, no joke, next day after the reflexology, I was cured!

I would have 100% asked him about the toe blowing. The only thing I can think of is the little quirky things that he did sounds like he was trying to refocus you. So, you experienced pain and you audibly shouted out “ow” - then he blew on your toes and you probably forgot about the pain in that moment & even if your brain went back to the pain-it was less intense…? 🤷🏼♀

I have a doctorate in eastern medicine and this is not normal. Reflexology foot massages are intense and painful but you would be able to tell them the pressure you need and often involves tools not breathing. I don’t know what the butt has to do w it and I’ve had a lottttttt of massages, even amazing foot spa in Brooklyn I went to almost every two weeks for 8 years. I’m sorry if you had weird vibes w a practitioner. Please don’t go back there. After one weird experience w a man, I don’t let men massage me anymore but that’s just my preference.
