If you add azelaic acid into your routine as well, at what point would you use that? On the retinol night or exfoliating night? Or in your morning routine?

So you just use exfoliating toner pads and not a facial scrub?

So I’m pregnant and using 15% Azelaic acid instead. Then the las Roche posay effaclar micro exfoliate toner its LHA. Since AZ is less stronger than retinols, how should I alternate?

so the exfoliating is it the cotton pads that are actually doing the sloughing off or the chemical exfoliating ingredients?
I've always wondered

If you’re new to treitinoin and an exfoliant can you start Incorporating them at the same time or should you work on easing yourself into one first?

This genuinely won’t be suitable for many, there’s no need to use an acid so regularly. Your skin does not shed that regularly or turn over that quickly.

Would the cerave SA moisturizer be enough of an acid to exfoliate?

I know this seems like a laundry list but I would love a midline list. 1 product recommendation for each step. My price point +age and areas of concern would be mid range$$. My main problem is I buy all recommendations then over use.

Is it better to work up to daily use of the retinoid at night and use an exfoliant in the morning? Or keep actives at night?

What if I’ve been using tretinoin .05% for 3 months and haven’t seen any change? Do I need the higher strength?

What type of retinoid and percentage you use? Also, what type of exfoliant you use? I use Tret 0.1% 3x a week. I can’t imagine using salicylic acid and Tret in the sabe night routine? 😭🥺

@Jess&Mo Fam in Okinawa🇯🇵🏝️: Should there be a recovery thrown in there for example retinoid night, exfoliation night, recovery night? Did you discuss what you’re more intense one time a week thing was?

THANK YOU! This was very validating. All the other derms preach daily use for retinoids, but I feel like that’s overkill. Every other night is best for me. What’s been working for me: MWF = retinoid, TThSa = azelaic acid (+ mechanical exfoliation w/ cotton washcloth), Sun = glycolic acid. Skin has been *chefs kiss*
