File for unemployment immediately and wrongful termination let the labor board sort it. They'll give you an attorney. you did what was right for you.. this is a window that was closed because a door is being opened.

Girl SUE find a good labor rights attorney they’re not as expensive as you’d think to get a consult and they will tell you if you have a good case and work with you on price this is exploitive , creates a hostile wok environment and then they retaliated

Unfortunately, it is legal. Texas is an at will state meaning they can terminate your employment at any point in time for any reason. However, I will gladly never shop at that place again! i’m sorry they did this to you and hopefully things turn around soon Love.
