in the film she talks about how men kept lying, gaslighting and manipulating Ophelia to the point of madness, she meant that by Travis being truthful and kind it saved her mind from madness. And as a girl in love, have you considered it is okay to reimagine the story in a "what if she met an actual kind man" once you meet someone that makes you feel like that. Feminism doesn't have to exclude love and other feelings from women.

i’m going to be honest this is how i’ve always felt about Love Story. lol. that song was written by a girl that had never read or at least digested Romeo and Juliet, it’s not remotely a love story it’s a tragedy or maybe an ironic comedy.

I truly think that Taylor herself, in her writing- and the fact her fans think she's a lyric genius, is a PEAK example of the literacy crisis we are in rn. her lyrics have never been impressive, she struggles to convey complex topics and thoughts- and she very clearly has never read Hamlet

yeah this is a problem with the interpretation, not the song - Taylor is well aware of this and wrote this song to seem like she's talking about Travis on purpose. the whole album is satirical and this is the first clue. You can choose to believe that or not, I don't really care, and I doubt Taylor does either, but it's much more fun to think about it that way whether I'm right or not so I choose fun haha

I think this is the point. she made this album as satire and the sampled songs give meaning through their lyrics. she told us she would write “white noise” in tortured poets
