I feel like Lori made it way worse. And not to mention in my opinion, she seemed manipulative. That one scene that Shane basically SA’d her, that I can understand why some people don’t like him as a character I get it. But other than that, Shane is one of my favorite characters in The Walking Dead.

There's one KEY difference between Rick and Shane. Alltough they both adopt a brutal nature, Shane is Selfish. Rick is Selfless. Shane is willing to kill to get what he wants. Rick is willing to kill get what his family needs. Rick acts only out of a want to protect his family (The entire group). Shane would kill so he could have Lorie..Allowing even his best friend to die in the process. So even when Rick loses it, it's for the right reasons. Shane lost it for the wrong reasons. Rick is the better man. Wich is why Negan broke him. Negan wouldn't have broken Shane. But Shane would have gotten the group killed or been killed himself.

Shane had the mentality and attributes and skills he just didn’t have the iq that rick had and shane was also always distracted chasin lori and he was hot headed real bad he showed that when him and rick fought in season 2 once he started gettin mad rick got the upper hand

The thing about this is when rewatching through you can see how these fights had really impacted Rick, after time you see him try and stand by his ideals up really until Lori dies. He was lucky enough to have Hershel teach and guide him again, until he dies as well.

Lori made things so mich worse between them. she pissed me off so much especially in season 2 when Shane IS staying away and she goes running to him making it worse all over again 🤦🏻♂
