want to suggest using a co2blaster instead (works better then snap blasting and doesn't destroy rubber/plastic & doesn't pit the metal while also removing rust and grime)

I know its factory but surely that airbox is fairly restrictive, I woulda thought it would have an inch or 2 air gap around the filter ?

good luck last time I checked it's like 1k a wheel end to do bud or Dayton style hubs to Pilot center hubs Daytons are usually a bit more because you need new drums as well un like bud wheels where you can reuse the old drums also run a ground cable to the frame and 1 to the starter from the battery they tend to have starting problems with it also try running the over head on it and it might help the smoking
