I hate to be the bearer of bad news. but 80s hair metal is a much larger category than you think. Aerosmith, Queen, Alice in chains, Kiss. all considered hair metal.

I feel like jon bon jovi is pretty good but yeah ive heard motley crue live videos from 1987 and its terrible but 15 year old couldnt admit it. mick mars is the best member of the crue. Sebastian bach i think was technically good.
