LET’S IMPROVE OUR UPHILL RUNNING SPEED AND EFFICIENCY WITH HILL REPS! ⚡️ And we’re back with #runlogtales, and for today’s quick and intense workout, we’re doing some uphill reps at BGC’s Greenway Park! Uphill reps are a form of speed interval workouts meant to be done in a route or track with some elevation. Think of it as your speed drills but a bit harder! Not only does it help you get faster in the uphills, but also strengthens your glutes, calves, quads, and more. Leg gainz baby! For today’s workout, we’re doing a quick 1km x 4 hill repeats session: starting with a (1) 2km Easy Paced Warmup, followed by the main sets of (2) 1km at 3:50’ to 4:20/km uphill, with 1km recovery easy downhill runs in between, and finally a (3) 1km cooldown easy-paced run. For the 4 sets, I initially went a bit slow in the first rep, but the next 3 sets felt really good once my legs warmed up even more—but still had a bit of DOMS from that hellish HYROX workout on Tuesday (will make a reel about that soon). Pace for the 4 sets was 4:10/km. 🔥 Last few days of peak week is here, and the deload starts in a few days. Glad of the gains I’m having in running. Never felt this good personally in my fitness life. I’m in a good place, and I can’t wait to test these legs in an actually race.
