TY Lin group from San Francisco designed the bridge. An American company founded by a Chinese American engineer in the 1950’s. That left curve “Chinese engineering” at the end feels like pure propaganda

they started building it when I was a kid and I was a grown adult when they finished it. 😭

they could have fixed the old East span by just replacing the piers with steel and concrete piles to bedrock, would have been a quarter the cost

but as soon as it was built it had problems with the bolts rusting, corroding and cracking. the bridge showed signs of problems from lack of quality control. 😂
