Hidden Danger Inside Your Timing Belt – Watch Before It’s Too Late! • In this video, we perform a timing belt replacement on a 2018 Ford Transit equipped with a 2.0 EcoBlue engine. This particular model is rear-wheel drive, which means the engine is installed longitudinally. • To access the engine efficiently, we fully disassemble the front end of the vehicle — removing the bumper, headlights, and radiator assembly. This gives clear access to the front engine cover, which is a single-use part that includes the front crankshaft seal. • Under the cover, you’ll find the timing belt system, which operates inside an oil bath. During the service, we replace the timing belt, tensioner, and also the oil pump drive belt, as it too runs in oil and is subject to wear. • It’s extremely important to use engine oil that strictly meets the manufacturer’s specifications. Failure to do so can cause premature belt degradation, loss of tension, and even severe engine damage.
