“Pebble poo” (small, hard, dry stools that resemble pebbles or rabbit droppings) usually indicates constipation or slow transit time in your colon. Here are the most common reasons this happens: ⸻ 🔹 1. Dehydration When you don’t drink enough water, your colon pulls more fluid out of your stool, making it hard and dry. Solution: Drink more water throughout the day — at least 1.5 to 2 litres, or more if you’re active or in a hot environment. ⸻ 🔹 2. Low Fibre Intake Fibre adds bulk and moisture to stool, helping it move smoothly. Solution: Eat more fibre-rich foods: •	Soluble fibre: oats, flaxseeds, chia seeds, fruits •	Insoluble fibre: whole grains, vegetables, bran Aim for 25–30g of fibre daily. ⸻ 🔹 3. Not Going When You Need To Ignoring the urge to poop can cause stool to sit in your colon too long, drying out more and turning into small hard lumps. Solution: Respond to the urge promptly whenever possible. ⸻ 🔹 4. Gut Imbalance An imbalance in gut bacteria can lead to slow digestion and constipation-type symptoms. Solution: Consider: •	Probiotics (either food-based like kefir, sauerkraut, or supplements) •	Prebiotic foods like garlic, onions, and asparagus ⸻ 🔹 5. Lack of Movement Physical inactivity slows down digestion and bowel movement. Solution: Daily walking, stretching, or exercise can stimulate your gut. ⸻ 🔹 6. Stress & Anxiety Your gut is sensitive to your emotional state, and stress can slow digestion significantly. Solution: Try stress management tools — deep breathing, mindfulness, or light exercise. ⸻ 🔹 7. Medication Side Effects Painkillers (especially opioids), iron supplements, and some antidepressants can cause constipation. Solution: Talk to your doctor about alternatives if medications are affecting your digestion.#leicestercolonic #fypage #leicester #colonicleicester #colonicirrigation #colonhydrotherapy #colonic #bloating #constipation
