❤️🎭 Lady Capulet’s story told in color and silhouette I designed her wardrobe to mirror her journey. It begins in a playful Pucci inspired rhinestone gown, not only red but streaked with pinks and blues. At the start Lady Capulet holds no quarrel with the Montagues and the blue quietly reflects that fragile peace. Loose and breezy silhouettes kept her light and open. As the story tightens so do the gowns. Cherry red with white accents shift into maroon and burgundy as Tybalt falls. Structured lines replace softness as grief hardens her. I even experimented with wearing a hoop skirt during Tybalt’s scene but found that saving it for the finale created the most impact. By the end Lady Capulet is clothed in black, with the most commanding silhouette of all, a matriarch swallowed by tragedy yet still commanding the stage.
