love this. I go for standard usage but everyone starts the new session with one heroic inspiration each. It's fun watching them implement a resource at their own leisure, but comfortable they don't need to hoard it. I hand out additional inspo for good rp, inventive solutions and rule of cool combat moments too.

My table has inspiration as normal just adv, but I have the rule that that is given by other players so at the end of each session they can nominate someone (seeing one persons reaction to the entire table clapping for them after a recap), then me as a DM can give my inspiration during the sessions which are basically bardics ranging from d8 to d20 depending on the situation

I built a whole thing for each class and race to use inspiration like a meta currency similar to FATE or Cypher. they all have a nice little menu and can hold up to 3 now, because some, like recharging a once per day ability, are more expensive

My parties use something we call cardic inspiration where we use a deck of cards to randomly get inspiration. Ace is a nat 20, joker is a nat 1, number cards are a + whatever number, face cards are +10s

I like the plot point use of inspiration ginny dy presented in one of her videos. a player can use it to change part of the plot (to gm discretion) or link himself with a character. like knowing the local blacksmith

oooooh of your using a VTT or DND beyond have you added it as a feat that recharges on like. along rest? that way they have it on their sheet? it might help them remember their options!
