I’m still HER. 🖤🥀 Constantly seeing posts where people say you lose yourself after having a baby actually gave me anxiety my entire pregnancy and made me think it was something that was definitive. I was scared of what life would look like after “losing myself” … it just seemed so dark and depressing… as someone who takes their mental health very seriously, this truly scared me. YES, things can be hard and grueling at moments and there are times where I have accepted looking and feeling like a cave woman because babies needs come first, and at times there is no doubt you are literally in survival mode… a shower? What’s a shower? 🤣 There are times when I’ve felt defeated and sat on the floor crying feeling like I had nothing left to give but wasn’t doing enough… it isn’t easy I get that… BUT this does NOT mean you need to lose yourself completely and settle into allowing this to become your norm… standing up against that stigma and redefining myself during this huge change has been challenging YES but if there is one thing I’ve learned it’s that you’re responsible for your own happiness. I MAKE MINE A PRIORITY. A hot candle lit bath once in a while, getting cute even if all I’m doing is sitting in the house with my little one, a quiet coffee during his nap where I literally do deep breaths to try and calm my nervous system to get ready for the day… getting up at the a** crack of dawn to get some exercise in so the happy chemicals in my brain flourish and I feel good… these are things that help me be happy. It’s okay to have hard moments and it’s also OKAY TO FIGHT LIKE HELL to FEEL GOOD!!! I hope all mommas that are struggling with this make themselves a priority and take a little time to do something that makes them feel good 🫶🏽🧖🏽‍♀️🛁🕯️✌🏾TODAY I got cute to remind myself that IM STILL HER!!!! 🥰😘#SelfCare #momlife #happy
