I think it needs time to heal from their trauma, not all cats are the same. I’m sure she/ he will be the sweets kitty ever.

I read cats will do that if they are starving. It’s sad but they are trying to survive.

Dear Kate, please consider having that checked it looks red around the scratch. Just for precautionary. The babies have been through such a tremendous traumatic ordeal that it will take time for them to come around. Not only by what they had to do in order to survive, loss of their human, but was also left to fend for themselves in the unknown world to them. Their whole life was turned upside down and will just take them time. I don't think they are feral per say. Thank you for helping them!

I adopted a sibling under the same assumption that he'd have a similar personality before. Took him 5 months to come around. He is very loving now.

Give them time. They experienced a very traumatic situation. They probably have some kind of PTSD.

Maybe it just needs time to adjust? It’s still a new environment and is scared.

They're going to need a lot more time than usual. Not only did the have to eat their deceased owner. Their owner died, they're in a new location, in a cage for probably the 1st time in their lives & they're grieving. If anyone can help them it's you & your family🫶

Definitely get that wound treated or go to a doctor ASAP, “Workers who routinely handle corpses may however risk contracting tuberculosis, bloodborne viruses (eg hepatitis B and C and HIV) and gastrointestinal infections (e.g. cholera, E. coli, hepatitis A, rotavirus diarrhoea, salmonellosis, shigellosis and typhoid/paratyphoid fevers)”, despite this being with people who do work with corpses regularly I would make sure that you get it looked at to make sure it goes alright because I remember what happened to your hand last time, well mainly finger, getting an infection that high up your arm I’m worried about serious infection and it spreading fast since it’s closer to the main part of your body so please be quick when you do treat it! And also be cautious about CSD. Sorry for the lengthy comment, health and safety is super important and I wouldn’t want anything bad happening to that wound
