🙈🙈 no , silicone , a washer is enough to seal it , notice there was no silicone on the old one coming out .

I don’t understand why there is in the water line this specific valve that only expert ppl will know how to close it in a emergency leak. why not install a valve with a handle??? I don’t get it (sos for my bad English)
