Omg there’s an HOA board member that keeps bugging us at a house that’s for sale. Very nosey and very demanding. He’s come up to me on multiple occasions and been extremely rude. It’s very uncomfortable.

I looked at by-laws, walked the neighborhood talked with folks, turns out the HOA and home owner paid neighbors to speak kindly of HOA. We are now in a living hell

For example:if we had an HOA the attack dogs wouldn’t be able to bark non-stop when you’re in your yard or the kids&adults couldn’t ride the street on a three wheeler or golf cart..no business trucks allowed ..awkward fences on the front lawns..unmowed lawns

We just moved into our new home even though our house is still on the market but when we were here a few weeks before moving in. the town “walker” came by saying he keeps an eye on things around town and told us all of these town rules and blah blah, checked with town because I’m like that doesn’t sound right cuz I read the ordinances. Yeah turns out he was just saying what he wants the rules to be, not what they actually are. So that’s going to be fun I hope he doesn’t turn into the problem guy around here. Otherwise he seemed friendly but way too nosey for a small rural town.

We read all the rules and covenants. We also researched and spoken with people in the neighborhood to get a feel of the HOA.

I’m closing on an HOA next week (fingers crossed it doesn’t go wrong). The area I’m moving too is mostly HOA. I was adamant I’d never do it but this one is really good. I went straight to the main office to meet them all and talk to them.

I won't buy in the HOA at any cost. I would rather live in a gated community called a base over a HOA.

Rules my be great when you buy but they change. In 23 yrs I saw multiple iterations of the rules and then I had to move. they went from reasonable to intolerable.

Living where there is HOA is like living in a Prison...I was harassed by HOA at the Enclave in Covington GA those ladies were so out of pocket 👊🏾

I’ve seen way too many people get on an HOA board and live out their power hungry dreams. Serious nutcases running around with clipboards and yardsticks checking the heights of flowerpots. No thanks.
