@rosaliebrownfit: Popcorn!! A snack that doesn't feel like you're making a SNACKRIFICE!! It's a great low cal, belly friendly, high fibre snack! IF you make it yourself! One of the easiest ways to make low cal, healthy popcorn is to buy a popcorn maker like the one in my video. I am always recommending this type of popcorn maker to my clients. It makes popcorn taste so much better than air-popped, and it’s super easy to use, and very economical!! A 1kg bag of popcorn kernels is less than $2! Giving you about 30 servings!! Not only is popcorn high in fiber, it even delivers some protein. A 1-ounce serving (about 3½ cups) has 4 grams of fiber, almost 4 grams of protein and clocks in at 110 calories. This combination makes it a snack with staying power. • Popcorn has antioxidants: It may be surprising, but popcorn is full of polyphenols, the same compounds found in berries and tea that are linked to heart health and a lowered cancer risk. Popcorn is filled with air (think about how small the kernels are compared to after they're popped). Because it's airy, you get a pretty large portion without a lot of calories. You can eat 3 whole cups of popcorn for only 100 calories depending on what you cook it in. Many of my clients have found it to be a perfect trade for chips or sugary treats. How I do it in popcorn maker : Directions: Add 1 tsp of coconut oil or olive oil to 1/3 cup of kernels and this results in about 6 cups of popped corn. Only 210 calories for the whole bowl, perfect for sharing! You can also make your popcorn in a paper bag! In a bowl Mix 1/3 cup of popcorn kernels with 1 tsp of olive oil or melted coconut oil put them inside the brown paper bag. Fold the top of the bag over a few times to seal it. Ensure the bag is sealed properly to avoid the kernels spilling out when popping. Now put the bag on a large plate in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or until you hear the popping slowing down. Timing depends on your microwave so be sure to WATCH the whole time when microwaving your popcorn. If you leave it for too long you risk the paper bag catching on fire. Keep an eye on it! Wait for the popping to stop completely, open the bag carefully and serve. Now get creative! You can top your popcorn with salt, cinnamon, pepper, nutritional yeast or even grated cheese - Are you a popcorn fan? What do you top your popcorn with? #popcorn #fibre #rosaliebrown #totalgym
