One of the pillars of our core values for our studio is building community! So yes I get some ppl don’t want to talk to their neighbors but I will always open up the opportunity for those that do value it and have them say hello! I started going to group fitness because I was new to town and didn’t know anyone and now bc of it I have life long friends! If you’re just coming because it’s cheaper than private lessons then that’s cool too but you don’t have to yuck her teaching style, just don’t partake!

We do group classes because it’s cheaper than personal training one on one. We don’t go to the gym to work out alone because we don’t know what we’re doing! Seriously I think u need to reconsider your business model

I really like instead of saying hi neighbor we do quick introduction of name, any injuries, and then a fun question like favorite fall activity. it allows natural conversation to happen and make you actually be neighbors in the class. obviously doesn't work in larger classes but smaller it has made me friends with my classmates outside of class.

I’m not saying hi 75% of the time but you’re absolutely welcome to suggest it. I go to group fitness because it’s cheaper than private training. I’m not interested in meeting anyone during a workout 😬

I teach group fitness also and I always start on time! I hate it when you’re sitting around waiting for the instructor. I understand things happen or come up but try to start on time. I never mind late comers as long as they come in quietly.

My instructor has us say hi or high five our neighbor. I think past me would’ve HATED this so I can understand why some people might also hate it. Present me loves this ☺ Also a huge fan of name calling. It gives me that extra push.

I teach Barre so when everyone has to move to the barre, that's when I have them talk to each other "tell them im happy you're here today! you're doing a great job! or can I scooch on next to you" as it is less awkward then & make people more open to creating space for others to be next to them. it is nice to be friendly with everyone around you💙
