@ayybraiebraie: And I’ve seen how a bad coach can change a person‘s life. Happy national coaches day to the coaches who genuinely put the human standing in front of them, and most importantly the child standing in front of them, first before any thing else in sport. The wins will fade. The scholarships will end. People will forget who won the national championship that one year. But your memory as their coach may never fade and it’s your responsibility to make sure that it was overall positive for that athlete. Being a positive coach isn’t about being a coddling coach or a yes man. A positive coach is a coach that is a rock in that athletes life that will stand up for them when it’s time and also hold them accountable when it’s time. To tell them maybe what they need to hear vs what they want to hear, but doing it also in a way where you address the situation, while also being a place for them to fall gently. Being a coach is way deeper than a lot of people know or that a lot of people understand and that’s why not everybody is meant to be a coach. So here are to the coaches that do just that. #nationalcoachesday
