But also complete denial of delusional thoughts is not how you treat other mental disorders like she's alluding to. For something like schizophrenia you're supposed to ground them in reality by saying you're not experiencing what they ask you are but still saying that you believe they're experiencing it because their experiences are still happening to them.

firstly you can't cure a chronic mental illness I'm bipolar and while meds are used to regulate it I have to cope with it by allowing patience with my depression and redirecting my manic no medication will get rid of a hormone imbalance in my brain secondly I'd rather someone transition and be happy instead of exist in the body they were born in and be miserable

mind you they often reccomend when dealing with dementia patients not to disrupt their reality unnecessarily (ie if their spouse has passed but they’ve forgotten and believe they are alive GO WITH IT and don’t make them relive that grief of losing them) i know it’s different but her first claim isn’t even true 😭
