The bread goes at the bottom of the bowl. Then pour the soup in. The cheese isn't shredded. It covers the top of the serving bowl. Like a lid on the bowl. Put it back in the oven for a few minutes to let the cheese brown a tiny bit. Its pronounced GREW-yair (rhymes with lair)

Pronounced grew-yair. The bread should go on top of the soup, then the cheese and melt the cheese under the broiler.
