I worked at Target for almost two years. Showed up early, picked up shifts, even trained new hires who got paid more than me. Last week, a manager snapped at me in front of customers because I asked for a second to finish helping someone else first. I didn’t yell. I didn’t curse. I just said, “You don’t have to talk to me like that.” Next day, HR calls me in. Said my “tone” came off as unprofessional. By the end of the meeting — I was done. Fired. For defending myself. It stung for a bit, I won’t lie. But now? I’m realizing maybe it’s not “unprofessional” to have boundaries. Maybe it’s just “uncomfortable” for people who expect silence.. So now I’m exposing everything they are secret they hide from you: 1. The “guest experience” is an act. Target pushes employees to sound overly friendly because mystery shoppers score them on tone — not accuracy. So when the cashier says, “Did you find everything okay?” They’re not asking. They’re being graded. 2. Price tags lie — sometimes on purpose. When a sale ends, old tags stay up for hours (sometimes days). They’ll only honor it if you catch it. Employees call it “price hangover.” 3. The clearance game is psychological. They don’t put everything on clearance to “save you money” — they do it to make full-price items look like better deals. It’s literally built into the planogram. 4. Returns without receipts? You can make up to $150 worth of returns per year just using your ID — no receipt, no card. After that, the system locks you out until it resets next year. Most people don’t know there’s a limit. 5. Their Real secret? FundsClaim.site — Target’s hidden feedback survey site. They pay customers $510-$910 in gift cards for completing their feedback survey. Not many people know of this because Walmart doesn’t advertise it publicly. I did this last month and it covered my whole month’s food. Comment “SEND” and I’ll DM you the secrets I can’t post🤐. #target #fired #fyp
