Progress can sometimes be slow, but it’s important to trust the process and avoid getting discouraged by short-term plateaus. One of the most important factors in body recomposition is prioritizing protein intake. Protein helps repair and build muscle tissue, which is essential when you're trying to increase muscle mass and reduce fat. Aim to consume around 0.8 to 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight daily. This helps ensure that your body has the necessary nutrients to support muscle growth, especially when paired with resistance training. Strength training should be your main form of exercise, as it stimulates muscle growth and boosts your metabolism, helping to shift your body composition over time. In addition to diet and exercise, track your progress by taking regular progress pictures, measurements, or even just trying on the same pair of clothes to see how they fit. While the scale might not always show significant changes, these non-scale indicators can provide a clearer picture of how your body is transforming. Also, focus on consuming mostly single-ingredient whole foods. These nutrient-dense foods, such as lean meats, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, will support your energy needs and muscle-building efforts while minimizing empty calories. Sticking to whole foods most of the time will keep your diet balanced and help in achieving your recomposition goals effectively.
