Also can we normalise not playing audio loud on iPad/ iPhone by BOTH children and adults in public places including restaurants and cafes. I dont want to hear your phone or your kid’s cartoon or game while I’m eating. That’s what headphones are for.

Back in my restaurant days, I saw a child run out the front door and almost into the street. Someone grabbed her in time, but just imagine if they didn't. Parents check out and expect the restaurant to be a babysitter too often.

As a mom to two and someone who used to work as a server at a restaurant, if your kids can’t sit down quietly and have a meal then they can’t go to restaurants. I’m not talking about your child needs to be completely silent, but they need to talk not yell and sit down not be running around

It is normalised. There are family friendly or oriented restaurants. If you’re complaining about kids in these, you’re the problem. But in normal restaurants which aren’t geared to family friendly fun, kids behaviour needs to be appropriate and parents need to parent them.

I used to sleep on the booth bench everytime i went to a restaurant until i was like 8 or 9. People wouldn’t even realize there was a kid at the table next to them. My parents always got complimented about having such a quiet kid. When i got a little older id just sit there and color. I never even talked to servers, and hardly ever talked in general. I was weirded out by so many strangers being around. I still don’t talk much in restaurants now at 29, except to order my food, even if I’m with other people.😅 I was always a weird kid.

Let’s normalize parents setting expectations prior to coming to the restaurant. If the children cannot meet the expectations, take them out until they can. And stop allowing your children to watch their show on your tablet without headphones!

I'm a server, at our restaurant we have lattice on the walls. I cannot tell you how many times I've had to ask the parents to please not let their children climb up the damn wall like they are at chuck e cheese.

I literally saw 2 different families at 2 different restaurants this past week allow their toddlers to scream and jump up and down on the booth seats behind the family while their families ignored them. Wild.

It's called being considerate. Also parents need to be aware of their children and the safety of them. Not to mention the OP of this video literally removed it cause so many people were calling her out on her not teaching her kids to behave.
