Nooo not everyone is welcomed in NYC. These transplants coming here causing landlords to raise the rents. Who in their right mind wants to pay 3-5K for an apartment. At that price people are better off buying a house.

i applied for “affordable housing” n got told its 1590 for a studio apartment in brooklyn. meanwhile my paycheck is around 1600

We honestly don’t need to build more. There’s so may new developments in these areas with high vacancies due to unrealistic rent rates. Now if there was legislation to have these vacancies be regulated to max out to match the median income of not the state but of the people in the community- that is a dream to sign up for.
