We did running bites during this phase. Get them playing with something and then yell "ruuuunnning bite!!!" and they have to run over really fast and take a bite and then go back to playing.

I found the best way to train kids to sit and eat is to put all the food on the table, everyone especially Dad, needs to sit and eat dinner together. They learn proper habits by watching their parents. Try it out for a week

My toddlers are turning into teenagers now, and they’re getting hungry. I waited so long for this. There’s less judgement and more eating. It’s beautiful! Hang in there, it’s lasts a long time but not forever 💚

I still hate bedtime more, because I'm tired and I want to go to sleep. I can handle a bad attitude at meal time or wanting to goof off instead of eat, but at bedtime I just want to be done.

Oooooo teens …. Will say “yea I’ll eat dinner” so you make appropriate servings … for them so say “I’ll eat later” and they don’t 😅. Toddlers ? I hate the clean up !!!! If I take your plate and assume you’re done … no your not but if I leave it it won’t be touched 😅. Or it’s the trail of it everywhere you find all week long

Yes girl. I totally understand the frustration. You spend all that time cooking just for your kids to not sit, not eat, complain, throw a fit.. you name it. And no one come for me saying I just “need to parent my kids.” I have 4 kids. I’m not new to the process. You’re doing good Mama! This too shall pass ♥

sometimes I question how my toddler is even alive. he doesnt eat ANYTHING. I counted how many bites of food he took 1 day. for 1 entire day, from the time he woke up to the time he fell asleep he literally only ate 5 bites of food. FIVE BITES!!!! hoooooow are we pooping 3 times a day off of 5 bites of food!?!?

So meal time stinks with toddlers. I always find I don’t eat lunch at the table when he have toddlers. I eat at nap time. My biggest suggestion to keep them full now is to change what snacks are. Snacks are the pieces of whatever lunch was that they didn’t eat. So say you have grilled chicken. You cut it into little bites, put that in their snack bowl, and there is their snack. Next time they want a snack? It’s the green beans in their snack cup. I will say, as a mom with 4 kids from 10 down to 20 months. It does eventually get better. Keep modeling meals at the table like you are. But change what snacks are so their bellies are full and their minds are happier ❤

With mine I offer dinner and they eat what they eat. Then before bed I put out a “snack plate” with fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, crackers, olives, veggies, pb sammy bites, etc and they pick off that plate until their hearts are content with no pressure. I’m not a “eat dinner or nothing” kind of mom. I’m an eat dinner and if you don’t you can have anything healthy you want afterward.

My entire day revolves around my toddler eating. She's always on the verge of being thin too so we loosely count her calories.

we play 'restaurant' where I'm the shop manager and I sit at the table with their plates and say in a fancy voice "the restaurant is now OPEN!" and not let them come over until they knock first or pretend to pay for a bite (insert other random fancy restaurant rules here 🤣).
even my picky eater finished their meal with this game lol

if my schedule would allow it I've thought of 5 small eating times or eating dinner right after school and then something small before bed

Bad mom here. I give my kid an iPad and he sits and eats his whole meal and we dont fight about it... I tried the other way and he never ate anything. I dont plan on this lasting forever and it's about the only time he gets one. but it is what it is. there are only so many battles this 9month pregnant mama can handle

i just let the goof off. the dining table is a circus. i already have to stress about what i make, make 3+ meals a day, do the dishes, do the grocery shopping, im damn sure not gonna stress about then standing up doing squats at the table while they eat.

And I’ll put a ton of time and effort into making a home cooked healthy meal that I think my toddler would like and she DOESNT EVEN TASTE IT and I’ll be sitting there eating alone and my feelings are hurt

Hot take: I hate both bedtime and meal time. 😞 Toddler barely eats, if she eats at all. And goofs off during bedtime and makes it a huge hassle.
