I'm allergic to tomatoes but I don't start hootin and hollering when the grocery store has tomatoes for sale, or call for them to stop selling tomatoes. I simply do not pick up or eat or purchase the tomatoes. and I also do not harass any other shoppers who do browse the tomatoes.

the fridge is designed specifically for spots with dead doves, there's a little cubbies and to see the dead doves you have to lift the door. you can also can remove all the dead doves with the control panel on the front of the fridge. sure do some people mislabel their dead doves? sure, but that's not the fridge's fault, it's whoever mislabeled their dead dove.

Once upon a time all of fanfiction lived together on other websites, but people kept going "ew, we shouldn't allow dead doves here. That's gross" and kicked them out. So finally the dove hunters went "FINE! We'll build an Archive! Of our own! And itll be better than yours ever was!" And then named it extremely literally to make it extremely clear that it was their own archive. And now people have noticed that the archive is indeed better and have come to join. Except they are mad about the dead doves in the fridge for some reason? When that was why the archive was built to begin with. And also the dove hunters even give away instructions and tools to build your own fridge if you wanted to keep your stuff away from the dead doves in theirs. But no one bothers doing that

people expect all communal spaces to be COMFORTABLE for them at all times. The public is weird! they're noisy! they do things you don't like or seem strange or that don't necessarily cater to the lowest common denominator. being in public is uncomfortable sometimes! get over it, get used to it
