At 17 It wasn't a Suppose to, I had to make my own money to support myself and ask nothing from my family. With one parent having a stroke a year in an 10 people in a 2 bedroom was I wrong for thinking this way?

I've told a student (at a local CC) that 🤷♀️"maybe college isn't for you" and she was stunned. Her mom's vision for her was overbearing, it seemed. She just wanted to travel the world before college, so we looked up non-profit organizations that would look awesome on the resume her mom wants her to have. 🤷♀️I mean, it's HER life. I'd say figure out the self 1st, then what do YOU want as a career/business? ...then research how to get from point A to Z. Then, GO bc none of your adult decisions need to make sense to others. Go be a zebra trainer, paint cars, become an electrician, an OBGYN, a rocket scientist ...whatever, just figure it out and go. Most entry-level jobs want 20 yrs experience anyways, right? 😆😆
