@harvardkennedyschool: Amazon has revolutionized shopping and challenged traditional brick-and-mortar retail, but at the heart of this logistics machine are over a million workers whose experiences tell a far more complicated story. A new report from Harvard Kennedy School’s Shift Project offers the first direct, large-scale comparison of working conditions for drivers and fulfillment employees at Amazon, UPS, and FedEx. HKS’s Danny Schneider explains the findings. Read the full report: ken.sc/amazonreport #PrimeDay #Amazon #DeliveryDriver #GigWorker #Workforce
people who use Amazon, start choosing the slow delivery option and also batch your orders rather than making a bunch of small orders

If the corporate workers of Amazon weren’t such sellouts and had any solidarity with their colleagues on the frontlines they could advocate and actually demand change.

I would say that no raises over time seems to signify something greater at Amazon which is they do not see the value in their employees and, therefore, don’t empower their employees. Employees don’t feel a sense of ownership in what they do making them feel like they don’t matter which makes it easier for them to leave. It seems like a culture problem.

i believe companies like Amazon, google, Microsoft, Walmart etc, should all be nationalized. profit incentives should be removed when the company is so big and important that its "too big to fail"

The people doing it in nyc amaze me. It’s a grueling job throughout the year. It’s like a postal worker but carrying way heavier stuff, more of it, and without a union.
