Yeah yeah it says lossless, but spotify sends the FLAC file to your phone for COMPRESSION that your phone then decompresses so it fits your audio output

Lossless audio is useless in my opinion, I'd say that it's better to try optimizing file extension's compression for less loss and the same or even smaller file size

1) spotify on lossless isn't even true lossless compared to tidal or AM 2) don't bother downloading lossless unless you have the equipment (wireless headphones or buds that support LDAC, or wired ones) 3) lossless is generally pointless, high bitrate lossy is good enough (320kbps AAC is nearly on par as lossless for casual listening) 4) invest more on headphones/iems that you enjoy

1. That’s not how lossless works(I don’t feel like explaining it but for short, it still compresses it, just in a way that doesn’t lose sound quality), 2. Lossless will be useless if you have wireless headphones/earbuds, it’s specifically built for wired headphones/earbuds that also have the quality to be able to render the audio thus, there’s no point in downloading them with lossless because it’s not like you will be walking around with wired headphones and a whole setup to be able to run lossless audio and 3. For all of the people that are saying that is Spotify lossless audio that is doing this, go somewhere else, Apple Music does this too and in fact, with Apple Music you can’t even use any pair of headphones because they specifically made it where it only works if you use AirPods Max connected with a wire to your phone, which the AirPods Max aren’t even good enough to have lossless audio work with its full potential on them
