Damn filled mice are the worst. They just cleared the field next to our house and holy cow. We have them so terribly. I have an entire room with totes just like that. Praying they do not get in them. Thanks for the PSA.

They’ll chew those clear plastic ones too. Get metal trash cans or get rid of your mouse problem.

We’ve had them for years and keep stuff in the garage in them and haven’t had that issue at all.

My pest control guy told me about a training they had where they showed the rats in New York that chewed their way through METAL doors. 🫠 they’re ruthless! My mom had mice chew a deer skull completely down to just antlers. They will get into anything and eat anything they can

It's not the totes, mice chew anything and everything except steel wool. We have an old farmhouse too. Bait stations, finding their entry holes and filling them in has worked for us along with sonic mice plug in things in their common areas.

We had about a dozen totes outside for awhile. Everything in those totes got ruined but not the other kinds. The lids don’t keep water out! The way the holes are let’s dust and water right in.

We’ve had them in our attic for years too. Never had a mouse problem. Looks like some declutterring/cleaning needs to be done.

Sorry about your mouse problem. It's so discouraging. Tho totes are pretty indestructible though, I've had 3 outside in the weather that keep straw dry for 3yr.

I got a tote for my pantry so mice are discouraged from eating my candy making stash or other chewable items like very thin plastic rice stuff

They also allow water in through those holes. At least the clear tubs with clips keep falling water out.

I keep ours, that has our quail food in their coop, and never had a problem. The ones from Costco are the only totes I trust

FYI I assume this also has a lot to do with where I live!

I thought they looked sturdy enough to store some items outside. I was wrong the lid cracked. may I suggest storing your items with some very smelly dryer sheets or cotton balls with peppermint essential oil on them.

This sounds like an extermination issue and not an issue with the totes.
