As a white woman, if black people are telling you something is racist, YOU LISTEN. No artist should be above criticism and you shouldn’t have such a parasocial relationship with a billionaire. I personally have some artists that I love but if the black community started speaking up saying that the artist was racist, without a question, I would not listen to that artist anymore. I don’t understand why people struggle with this.

As a Black woman, I had a lot of internalized racism and was socialized into white approval/validation/proximity. Now I look at white culture with a much more discerning eye and recognize the WW micro aggressions and overt aggressions especially toward Black women.
