Hi I work on the Napali coast. People still get sea sick even in the summer. It’s not like flat/calm on the summer either. Also those clouds and mist make the mountains look super magical and cool in my opinion. Sorry you didn’t have a good time

We just went 3 days ago in October and was perfectly fine and beautiful. Yah you def need to take Dramamine before you go out on a boat for 4 hours……. It’s also better to go on the morning tour

We went in early August early in the morning. Everyone took Dramamine. Some of us also used the patches and wristbands. We had a great time! However, we were told we went on a great day. It was nice and sunny and calmer waters.

Sharing for others - we did Makana Charters in Sept and chose a morning tour. We did a lot of research and since I’m prone to motion sickness, we chose a boat that wouldn’t feel as rough (vs a raft). I took Dramamine and wore a motion sickness patch and felt fine for most of it, but the waves were definitely rougher on the way back. Overall it was still an amazing experience, the Makana staff were really kind and checked on everyone frequently. My advice for anyone considering these boat tours - do your research and actually follow the tips/recommendations they have on their websites.

We went a couple days ago, I took Dramamine, did all the things right. Got sick 3 times… crew was absolutely incredible and took good care of me but I’m so sad I couldn’t enjoy it😭 should’ve just bought a helicopter tour instead

This is my fav memory on the island! My husband and I went on the sunset cruise right after getting married on the island. Even summertime can be super choppy but Dramamine saved us! Definitely retry with Dramamine!!🤍

Omg i was the pregnant lady on this same exact boat tour 🤣 the ride back was INSANE, they just blared rock music and said hold on tight hahahaha

This was the worst thing I’ve ever done and NOT worth it! EVERY SINGLE PERSON (about 50 I would say) were MISERABLE! The 5 mins by the mountains wasn’t worth the misery. We were all so happy to be back, it was almost like a party! Awful experience.
