Shauna is genuinely what most of the yellowjackets should be. I don’t want morally good people, I want unstable, angry, insane girls. Humanizing everyone except Shauna and Lottie this season is truly what makes me mad

i’m not saying she’s “cartoonishly evil”, but her complexity is included when deciding she is unnecessarily evil. i mean come on, she didn’t scalp mari for survival purposes or bc she was mourning

what makes no sense it's the girls fearing Shauna so much, where does that come from? just her being angry? her yelling? so what? nat and lottie had more influence over the girls even tai

it also explains her adult arc, shauna may have lost herself out there but she also FOUND herself. so when she starts to lose control in the time skip, she reverts to the violence and paranoia that "helped her survive" the wilderness

I could write a whole essay about how her anger is completely understandable and an expected step for her character

immediately yes, people just aren’t watching the show critically and engaging with it fully, from saying things like “I skip the entire adult timeline” to picking/choosing favorites to exonerate and excuse, people are so bent on ignoring Shauna’s arc simply because they “don’t like her”

Im so tired of people trying to make her a complete victim simply because she lost a baby. I lost a baby while homeless. Its not a reason to be evil.

What’s your opinion on being a teen Shauna defender but not an adult Shauna defender? I realized it was a bigger thing when even jasmin asked Courtney if she was a teen or adult Shauna defender. I personally am a teen shauna defender but I’m curious on your take ab that

no because thank you for saying this!! people who say “shauna has no right to be this angry” bothers me a lot. because yes she does??? she lost her best friend, her first born child and then she had to carve up a child for their food. she went through a lot of trauma, pain and guilt and you can happily sit there and tell me ‘shauna doesn’t have a right to be this angry’ or ‘shauna should grieve a more heather way’, but she does. people grieve differently, people encouraged shauna’s behaviour and how she acted out and damn melissa encouraged her even more by telling her ‘this is power’ which triggered something inside shauna to become more ‘powerful’.

To me personally and I don’t think it’s the acting this the writing and it’s very unbelievable to me. As one who watched day one of release I know it’s not Sophie’s acting it’s the writing

See you just explained her character development in 3 minutes better than the writers have all season. She’s not “cartoonishly evil” but the writers made her into a tyrant without giving her trauma the grace is needs.

I was a Shauna defender in seasons 1/2 and I liked her complexity especially as a woman/young girl with her relationship with her daughter/the other girls on the team like Jackie, Tai, and Lottie. Season 3 in my opinion takes her in the wrong direction. For both her adult self and her teen self to fit this narrative that speed runs them into the antler queen hunt. Yes she has always wanted to be cared for/truly listened to by Jackie but she never did anything to actually be the leader and I don’t think that’s what she wanted in the pilot episode. I think it would’ve made way more sense for tai to become the leader at the end of season 3 and have Ben’s death be the end of the season. People trust tai and she is much more of a threat to the other girls that’s been established throughout the series. She should’ve been the one strong arming the girls, she could’ve lost herself to other tai this season to mirror her adult self, and she has always been overlooked as the real leader that has saved them countless times. I also just personally think they gave way too much plot armor/convience to Shauna. And all this building for Tai to become the leader could’ve answered questions like who burned the cabin down, who was javis friend, and how Javi survived the majority of winter- other tai.

My only problem is the adult timeline in seasons 1 and 2 do NOT reflect the Shauna we see in season 3. I can excuse Natalie not remembering things clearly because of her drug abuse (which she herself says) and Lottie too because she was locked up in a psych ward for years, with everyone telling her she had delusions and was crazy. But Taissa, Van, and Misty should NOT be welcoming to Shauna at all. It’s clear the writers didn’t plan for Shauna to be so ruthless in s3 while they were writing s1-s2. The fact that the girls don’t wanna associate with Misty but are fine with SHAUNA??? Just wish there was more consistency in the 2 timelines 🤷🏽♂

Also they expected her to get over her baby dying so fast like we see her get annoyed and tai is the only one who seems to give her any grace when we see her Tell van she’s still grieving
