#They would cook you, but you're right! The fact that they attempt to impose an 100% fanon ship and the bi headcanon onto other fans is annoying. In the actual story, no matter how you cut it, Maomao has zero romantic feelings for Shisui. It has been a while since I have seen a fandom preach headcanons as fact this badly. Never cared much about her when reading the novels prior to the Shi clan adaptation, but I am honestly glad she will never show up again in the anime (assuming the novels won't be fully adapted).

Curious to know: were you able to be attached to Shisui as a character (prior to the kidnapping) this is a personal problem I have—not being emotionally attached to or care about the characters im reading, like until for a bit of time— because I feel like it was also could not be sold as Shisui is Maomao’s friend but I just thought it was more because Shisui didn’t have enough story time for me to be a little more interested in her. I never disliked her just couldn’t form an opinion yet.
