Reminder that excitement and happiness are not the same thing and are not mutually exclusive.⁣ ⁣ We can all agree that we want our dogs to be happy.⁣ ⁣ What most people don't understand is that excitement does not always mean happiness.⁣ ⁣ Excitement is arousal.⁣ ⁣ A dog who gets wildly aroused and/or has no off switch for their arousal is an unbalanced dog.⁣ ⁣ While some dogs are more prone to developing more arousal issues, it's always humans who create this arousal by constantly reinforcing their aroused dog.⁣ ⁣ Most are unaware they are using their dog to feel their own significance, to be seen and heard.⁣ ⁣
